Returns & refunds

Golden Valley Nursery will always send you healthy, quality plants that can perform well in your garden.

We pack our plants carefully and are happy to refund or replace plants that are damaged in the post or are unhealthy when you receive them.

You will need to send us a photo of the plants within a day of opening the package.  Golden Valley Nursery reserves the right to accept or deny any claim until we have inspected the plants or a photo of them.

As with all living things, plants are not completely uniform in size, shape and colour and some have natural imperfections.  We will not refund or accept for return plants with minor natural imperfections or cosmetic blemishes.

Everyone’s gardening practices are different, so we can’t guarantee the performance of your plants once they are in your care.  We’ve provided advice on how to care for them on this site and are happy to answer any plant care queries that we haven’t covered.

Postage times

Orders received & paid for by 8am Monday are posted that day.  We only post on Mondays, except when Mondy is a public holiday and then we will post local orders on the Tuesday and all other orders the following Monday.

As we post with Australia Post, we have no control over exact timings of deliveries and cannot phone you when your order is being delivered. Postage usually takes 3 - 5 days for most parts of Australia, but occasionally takes up to 10 days.  Our plants are resilient enough to withstand that length of time in the mail, although less time is always better of course.

Therefore, we cannot compensate you for plants that we've posted on time but have been delayed in the mail.

Flower colours

Plants provided by us should flower in the colour that they are intended to as we have taken great care with their breeding and most of our Clivias, Agapanthus and Strelitzia are grown from hand-pollinated seed.

However, on occasion seed grown plants do flower differently than expected.  This is usually because stray pollen has been carried by wind or an insect and has interfered with the genetics.

If you want to be 100% certain of colours please only purchase flowering sized plants that have previously flowered or are in flower, or offsets from these, as we cannot 100% guarantee the colours of un-flowered seed grown stock.  The flower pictures on our site should be regarded as indicative of the most likely colour only.  Please ask before buying if you're unsure.
