These eye catching plants never fail to attract attention and questions from visitors.
Though dormant through winter, they make up for their winter absence by emerging in Summer with a stunning display of large red globe-like flowers in time for Christmas.
We prefer to call these by their botanical name of Scadoxus multiflorus since so many lilies share their common names of blood lily or paintbrush lily.
The bulbs we're offering are several years old, but not big enough to flower this Summer, but they should be sufficiently large to flower the next flowering season Even if we were to supply larger bulbs we find that they rarely flower the year we transplant them into the garden but once they are established they flower and multiply very reliably.
Scadoxus multiflorus perform very well in full sun to part shade. They don't like to be over watered, particularly over winter, but overall they are not fussy and are easy to grow.
We supply these as freshly dug bare-rooted bulbs. If you plant them as soon as practicable after you receive them you will find that they grow quickly, without the delay that you get from dried bulbs.
This listing is for one bulb.
