Grown primarily for their equisite highly fragrant pure white flowers, these bulbous plants are much tougher than they look. They can be grown in most parts of Australia as they tolerate cool climate but also grow successfully in sub tropical areas.
The plants themselves grow to about 45cm high, and with flowers they can be up to about 70cm high. They are not wide plants, so can be planted close together, although if you are patient you may want to plant further apart and wait for them to divide as each bulb will produce a further one or two bulbs each year.
In cool climates they should be planted in full sun, whereas in hotter areas they may benefit from a position that offers protection from the sun in the hottest part of the day. Because of their height, they are best protected from strong wind.
The plants we supply are in packs of 10 fresh bulbs with foliage trimmed back. You will actually receive 10 clumps of bulbs, as these tend to grow in clumps of small bulbs as opposed to one larger one.
Growing Tip: If your tuberoses are reluctant to flower then divide them and replant them. The central bulb flowers only once and then produces new offset bulbs that will flower when they are large enough. If you give them space to grow away from their parent bulb they will more quickly bloom for you.
Important information about your order
We post to all states except WA, TAS & NT
All of our plants are posted bare-rooted, wrapped in slightly damp paper
We try not to trim back plants for postage unless we really have to - for example our Gingers and Heliconias are trimmed back to rhizomes as they post and plant better this way
We post on the Monday after payment has been received. Payment needs to have been recieved by 8am Monday to be included in that day's mail
All items are sent with tracking and where an order totals over $100 it will require a signature on delivery
We inspect every plant before it leaves us to make sure we are sending you healthy, good-sized plants that will perform well in your climate
When you receive your plants
Please unpack the box as soon as possible
If you're not ready to plant, leave your plants in a cool, shady place either wrapped in damp paper or in a tub of water until you are ready
Look out for our discount cards - we often reward our customers with a discount voucher so we'll put one in your box whenever we have a promotion running
