This is one of our favourite Beehive Gingers (Zingibers) as it is compact enough that it will produce flowers while still in a 200mm pot.
Growing to about 1 to 1.5m high this attractive tropical plant blooms from the base with gorgeous, long lasting apricot coloured cones from about mid-October each year. In warm areas it will keep it's foliage over winter, but in cool areas it may become deciduous. It is suitable for most areas that do not get frost.
We grow ours under 50% shade cloth or in the garden in filtered light. Some direct sun is fine, but shade for part of the day is ideal.
The plant you will receive will be a bare-rooted rhizome. We do trim back the leaves, but leave some greenery on. We make sure that your plant has several good growing points so it will get off to a good start when you plant it.
