Bulbine frutescens is another tough South African plant. We have bulbines in Australia too, such as the yellow flowered Bulbine glauca. Their semi-succulent leaves are very well suited to our hot summers, as the plants can withstand both hot and dry conditions.
Bulbine frutescens looks good in most styles of gardens - it is at home mixed in with natives, in a cottage garden, a rockery or just about anywhere that receives at least part to full sun.
Bulbine frutescens can have yellow, orange or white flowers. The ones we are offering here have orange flowers. They are flowering sized plants. Some have slightly black or brown leaf tips as they've been grown in tough outdoor conditions and they look best when they've been planted out for a couple of months and get lots of fresh new growth.
